Red wines

Gravello

Val di Neto

This wine was created in the late 80s from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Gaglioppo. It immediately became one of the company's premier wines and a symbol of Calabria, which was just beginning to open up to the international market. We are very fond of its fancy name, evoking complexity and gravity on one hand while suggesting lightness and spontaneity on the other: a link between two opposites that best represents our wine-making philosophy.

Grapes Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % Read more

International grape variety par excellence, Cabernet Sauvignon found a happy home in Calabria. When perfectly ripe, it loses the herbal notes that can characterise it and unleashes all of its aromatic complexity, which can also derive from ageing: blackcurrant, violet, leather, tobacco, chocolate, coffee...

The quintessential Cirò grape, this is the most important red grape variety in the area, both in terms of tradition and production. It is the main component of Cirò red and rosé DOC, as well as of other Calabrian wines. It can be developed in several ways: from traditional rosés, fresh and fruity wines with their own character, to medium-bodied reds with good levels of acidity and great complexity. In case of a longer maceration process, the wine naturally gains more structure and better aging prospects. It usually has hints of red berries, Marasca cherries, dried flowers and licorice.
